Anti - microbial resistance stratified by risk factor among Escherichia coli strains isolated from the urinary tract at a rural clinic in Central India/ (pdf)
Background: The failure of empirical therapy is frequently observed, even in community-acquired urinary tract infections. We, therefore, conducted a prospective, clinic-based study in 2004-2005 to document anti-microbial resistance rates and correlate them with possible risk factors to assist empirical decision-making.

Migrants and medical refugees: a short report
"What is the catchment area of your hospital?" the well- meaning person from the funding agency asked. I responded with our oft-quoted figure of people from over 1,500 villages coming to us for healthcare, including many from the adjoining parts of Madhya Pradesh. But what I did not tell him then were the life experiences of some people from these villages in an era where all aspects of rural life seem to be in a crisis.
Social Protection: Keeping People's Health in Focus
Social protection in terms of access to health care: the extremely poor quality of services currently available in the public system should not be a reason for the state to withdraw further from its obligations and enter further into privatization. The public health system and the PDS have failed because they have been allowed to.
